As an active contributor to the swine industry, you are invited to become a member of our organization. Benefits include information about upcoming events, publications, legislative updates and the ability to network with other producers. We serve as a direct link between the Wyoming swine industry and the National Pork Board (administering Checkoff programs in promotion, education and research) and the National Pork Producers Council (conducting public policy outreach on behalf of 43 member states, including ours).

Yearly, WPPC holds an Annual Meeting of the Wyoming Pork Producers Council (WPPC), which has recently been offered in conjunction with the University of Wyoming “Showcase Showdown” provided by  Wyoming 4H in June. The meeting provides the opportunity to hear from various industry speakers and receive educational materials hot off the presses. Pork Act Delegates are also elected at this time, representing the Wyoming pork industry during a Forum held each March. Any producer, who is a resident of the state and has paid all assessments due may be considered as a delegate candidate and/or participate in the election. Additional agenda items include a Pork Checkoff Update and report on office activities.

We expect a lively Fall of activities and look forward to your help in directing our next move. Recent projects include coordination of three scholarship endowments to community colleges in Wyoming, sponsorship of the Swine Arena at the 2011 State Fair, as well as sponsorship of the Cheyenne Hispanic Festival, Casper College’s Judging Camp, FFA activities and the 4H Showcase Showdown.
